Uh, yeah. This one's for
winterlive , from nearly a month ago...
::hangs head in shame::
Well, you guys know how difficult being a genius is, I mean, this kind of stuff, it just slips out of our very, very busy minds ::cough::

This one is my only Dark Angel icon, kinda wish I had more, but I have to recycle positions here, so maybe later. These are Max and Alec, they had this interesting relationship where they were siblings, sorta friends, not-really a couple, on opposite sides of the fence (at the beginning, and then in Max's mind, apparently) and usually butting heads on their worldviews. But mostly, they were complementary (he was her assigned "breeding partner", for god's sake!), two sides of the same coin, if you will. I loved this dynamic from day one, plus Alec owns me. And this particular icon, I think, exemplifies their relationship the most, even though I'm pretty sure the icon maker meant love as in romantic love, I take it to be two people loving each other and leave it at that. That scene was pivotal to their relationship because in it, Max essentially told Alec she didn't hate him for him, but for what he reminded her of, in fact, she didn't hate him at all, she trusted him enough to confide her darkest secret to him, I want to believe that somewhere, not-so-deep-down, she knew he'd understand why she had to do what she had to do. It was HUGE. So, yeah.

Like the previous one, this one is about the moment in the relationship. In this moment, Dean and Sam were brothers. True and tried. I found this scene even more touching than the actual confession that led to it because it's so understated, it's there and it's patented Winchester speech: say by doing, not by talking.

Really, if you're going to save the world, what kind of footwear would you choose? This references the other fandom that ate my heart, Doctor Who, but particularly Ten. See, I loved Nine, but Christopher Eccleston does not have David Tennant's smile, and while the good ol' Doc is a total emo!boy, it's all about the smile.
Oh yeah, and he's also a time traveling alien, out to save the universe in his time traveling police box. It's all very British.

Scully said that, and it applies to many faces I pull when dealing with the very, very trying conundrums that plague my everyday life. It's also very snarky and in-joke-y. Love it to pieces.

Steve Carlson has this way with music, he makes it feel very intimate and one on one-ish, I like how he mixes styles and stories and comes up with this combo so unique it cannot be anything but personal. In this case, it's the cropping what did it, he's lying in a bed with his guitar, looking all concentrated and stuff, and in general I like the pic, but this icon draws your attention to the guitar, to the musician, to the craft, and that sort of makes my panties wet a little bit. Plus, it says a lot about what I like in music, the honesty, the intimacy, the intensity. It's the opposite of pre-fab music, methinks.
I'm gonna go now, go back to do geniuses stuff. It's a tough life, mine.
ETA: Oh yeah, forgot:
1. Reply that you wish to take part, and I will pick four of your icons.
2. Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons I chose.
3. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
4. This will create a never-ending cycle of icon squee!
